COMOTION 2019 TITLE SEQUENCE
This year I had the pleasure of being approached by Octane Lord Daniel Whitaker to be the producer for CoMotion Branding Team. I accepted this quest and led a group of twenty-five people to deliver a series of multi-media deliverables ranging from the super-awesome title sequence, graphic and print deliverable, experiential projection mapping, and documentation book. By channeling the leadership skills I developed from my two years of military service, I was able to lead my team towards the successful execution of event using extreme Google Calendar and Microsoft Excel usage. Even though we did such an amazing job, the biggest takeaway I have is the FRIENDSHIP I developed with my peers.
Title sequence for the tenth annual CoMotion Student Symposium that takes viewers through MOME Love’s past while introducing new and exciting design that will continue to define SCAD MOME Love as a powerhouse of motion design.

AKASHA / PEPPER GHOST DIGITAL EXPERIENCE DESIGN
We, from the moment of birth, continue to take. Life is to constantly sin, life is suffering.
As we progress with life, we adopt more and more egos from the world. We become more selfish and more obsessed with how we project ourselves into the world. We all want to be the best, the famous, the rich, and so, for society and media have goosestepped us into buying things and concepts that we do not need for a good life. We may have made a lot of technological advancement over the past decade but our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. In order to create a saner and more compassionate world, we first begin with a thorough examination of our lives and strip it to its essence.
A super hyper inter-consciousness dimensional immersive enlightening experience.
It is a dome / ghost pepper projection mapping that demonstrates a reflection of humanity’s ego and attachment to the material world. Utilizing symbolic depiction of greed, aggression that characterize the worlds of sufferring and dissatisfaction known as samsara in Buddhism, a parade of materiality is formed.
This will be an immersive visual experience that borrows iconography from rituals, tribes, religions, and cults. A return to our raw human spirit through an inter-dimensional tunnel populated with sacred geometry, arabesque, the sublime, fragmentation, permutation, abstraction, and things that make you go WTF.
Specifically, I’m looking at Buddhism and the Four Noble Truth in the Buddhism, in which life is suffering, suffering has an origin, suffering can cease, and there is a path in which we can change ourselves to escape the suffering. In the final analysis, the project pertains to the aversion of the admiration of the worldly, journeying towards impermanence and enlightenment.
• Created a database of visual & animation using Adobe After Effects, practical effects, 3D fractal generation software (mandelbulb), generative art (processing) and Cinema4D, Google’s DeepDream AI Generator, personal automatic drawing. (Exploration of visual expression)

COWBOY BEBOP LOGO ANIMATION
Cowboy Beop is the futuristic misadventures and tragedies of an easygoing bounty hunter and his partners. With Netflix producing a live-action series soon, I thought to myself: “What would the logo animation look like?”. Thus, I was on the quest to realize that vision.
Nostalgic modernist design glitched to another dimension.
7 SINS — SLOTH
My peer Ivanna Smith approached me for an opportunity to glitch the h*ck out of her a scene in her senior thesis film about the seven deadly sins. In the scene of Sloth, I decided to make glitch as a narrative rather than an aesthetic visual by tapping into the background as a visual effects artist.
Here is the protocol that I used: rotoscoped elements from different shots, corrupted its data through Avidemux and Adobe Audition, rephotographed the playback on a LED television, re-composite into the original plate.
In order to raise the game of our design skills, DuItBetter teamed up with his talented peers for the most epic collaboration to redesign a title sequence and branding campaign for the TV series Evangelion. On this team was Granger Eltringham the fishy illustrator, Zach Hixon my trusted typography dude, Katherine Monday , and Lava Girl Lauren Kittle ….. Being able to work with more people means there were lots of room for exploration of new visual language and amplification of existing ones. Some of these mediums explored are the crazy 3D fractal software Mandelbulb, microscope videography, DeepDream artificial intelligence image transfusion, shooting live-footage, After Effects animation and compositing and so on.
NEON GENESIS EVANGELION
“The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes” (Joel 2:31).
Evangelion is the gospel of the Kingdom of God where the angels are not harbingers of death but rather agents of rebirth. The angels are the corrective forces and the higher powers of the universe must intervene definitively to put an end to the failure of humanity. The final establishment of the Kingdom of God can only be realized through the demise of humanity.
The opening sequence will be a vision of the catastrophic end of the world through the lens of the angels. It will mark the end of an old world and the emergence of a new. The new world is the Kingdom of God as Adam and his children see fit.
